Kirkland Interfaith Network (KIN) invites the public to its annual Alternative Giving Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 at St. John’s Episcopal Church (105 State Street).
The KIN Holiday Fair is your chance to buy a gift that gives twice! At the fair local, national and international charitable organizations offer “symbolic” holiday gifts which can be purchased in honor of someone on your holiday gift list. Each symbolic gift comes with a card you can give to the honoree, explaining the gift. For example, you can buy nails for a Habitat for Humanity house, a flock of chicks for a poor rural family or a night’s shelter for someone who is homeless.
There are also handmade fair trade gifts available for sale from Ten Thousand Villages and refreshments.
Stop by and enjoy some shopping and hot cider!
