Crews from the city erected the "holiday tree" on Thursday in the parking lot at Lake & Central in downtown Kirkland. The tree will be ground zero for the tree lighting ceremony next weekend. In previous years the tree had been placed above the pump station in Marina Park. This year the tree has a more prominent position signaling that Kirkland "is open for business."
*a friend has pointed out that the actual height is likely not four stories, however, it does appear to tower above when standing next to it.
