[imagebrowser id=102] Carillon Point was a buzz Thursday night as Le Grand Bistro Américain hosted a pre-opening house warming party, serving libations and hors d'oeuvres to an enthusiastic crowd of friends and neighbors. Le Grand, the French-inspired restaurant opening December 28 at Carillon Point, is brought to us by Owner/Operator, Ted Furst.
Furst is a practiced restaurant concept developer, executive chef, winemaker, long time consultant, and a key member of the small group of culinary pioneers who jump-started Seattle’s food and beverage renaissance 25 years ago. Now he is opening Le Grand in Kirkland's Carillon Point, in the location that was once home to Cucina! Cucina!
Upon entering Le Grand, we were greeted by a welcoming staff standing before a room filled with guests. We merged into the bustling restaurant, soaking up the sights and sounds of a bustling party that was well underway. Servers and chefs weaved in and out of the crowd, delivering drinks and noshes as the guests mingled. The open kitchen served a selection of hors d'oeuvres - delicious small plates including prawn cocktails, beef sliders, ahi and wasabi burgers, and oysters on the half shell.
Le Grand officially opens on December 28, 2010. The menu includes a wide variety of French-inspired dishes, steaks, cheeses, cured meats and "Le Raw Bar" featuring yellowfin tuna tartare, oysters on the half shell and yellowtail carpaccio. Le Grand offers a large selection of appetizers including steak tartare and grilled calamari as well as the requisite side dish you'll find at every French restaurant: pommes frites.
