Thank you letter to the Kirkland community from the Boy Scouts

[imagebrowser id=114] Dear Kirkland Community:

Boy Scout Troop 570, located in Kirkland, WA, would like to thank the Kirkland Community for their support in our annual Christmas Tree Recycling Fundraiser.  During the weekend of January 8-9, we collected 563 trees – a 35% increase from last year!  They were all chipped in about 90 minutes, led by a crack crew from AG Tree Service, and the mulch will be used by the Kirkland Parks Department to help sustain and beautify our local parks.

Boy Scout Troop 570 has a tradition of picking-up and recycling Christmas trees as a primary fundraising source. The donations we received during this effort, from residents like you, are a critical part of our ability to provide a quality program, consistent with the high ideals of scouting. Many of the boys will use this fundraiser as a primary means to earn money to go to Summer Camp.

Troop 570 was established in 1969 at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in north Kirkland.  We are 80 scouts strong today and are proud to have had 62 scouts achieve the rank of Eagle – 41 in the last 10 years.
