Calling all neighbors and users of 132nd Square Park. The neighborhood has received a grant to design and build a gathering place at the park. We need your input this Saturday, June 25 at 10:00 AM for just two hours. What is going to be built? We do not know yet, that is why we need your ideas. It could be a picnic shelter, and amphitheater, or …?
The grant is from Tully’s and our project is one of four projects in the greater Seattle area funded by this grant. Planning, design, and construction of our shared public space are being done with the assistance of Pomegranate Center, a non-profit group based in Issaquah. Example of their previous projects can be viewed at www.pomegratecenter.org and click on “Build Places.”
Please join us in imagining, planning and creating a public gathering place in the park.
The first session is from 10 AM to Noon, and is focused on generating ideas and creating a vision for the project. At 4PM another session will be held to review preliminary designs based on the morning’s input.
The community meetings will be held in the gym of the LDS church across the street from the park at 13220 NE 132nd St. Kirkland.
