Hudson withdraws from election race against Jackie Pendergrass for LWSD Board

Cynthia Hudson, candidate for Lake Washington School Board, has withdrawn from the race against Jackie Pendergrass, incumbent Lake Washington School Board Director since 1995. Hudson's website homepage has one simple message:

I have withdrawn from candidacy for LWSD 414 School Director District 1.

Since King County Election rules will not allow Hudson to withdraw her name from the ballot or from the voters pamphlet at this late date, she will appear as a candidate in the November general election despite her desire to no longer be a candidate.

Incumbent Jackie Pendergrass of Kirkland has served as Legislative Chair and as Board President in the past and is currently serving as President. For over 30 years, she has been an advocate for children and children's issues both locally and statewide. During this time, she has been involved with a variety of child-focused organizations. Currently she is Program Director for the Juanita Schools Foundation. In addition, she is involved with ASSISTANCE LEAGUE© of the Eastside, the Lake Washington Schools Foundation and PTSA. She also volunteers in her neighborhood schools.
