A group of fourteen Kudos Kirkland volunteers worked side by side with a crew of three Public Works employees on Thursday morning on their charge to clean up the Market Street medians. To date, the group has progressed along Market Street from Heritage Hall to 14th Street. Each Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m., Public Works cordons off the designated work area with safety cones, distributes orange reflective vests and gardening tools for the Kudos Kirkland volunteers. For the next two hours the Kudos volunteers work along side Public Works removing trash, weeds, and grass from the medians in an effort to spruce up this gateway to downtown Kirkland.
Special thanks to Penny Sweet, Tim Obrian, Sue Warga, Tia Scarce Santos Contreras, Sue Contreras, Roger Kirk, Bob Sternoff, Bob Roller, Michelle Sailor, Rob Butcher, Kimberly Maddux, George Noble, Laura Westlund and of course, Jerry Merkel and his team from Public Works.
Kudos to all for a job well done!
